About the organisation and its mission:
The organisation was founded in 1990 and counts as many as 24 staff members.
With a 26-year-old tradition, our organization works in different regions of Peru. We create innovative solutions in order to widen the opportunities of development of the population with emphasis on children, adolescents and young people.
We develop strategies for social issues such as: Integration and development of children, mental health and prevention of sexual violence and violence against women, environmental education, career advice and help for young people, reproductive education and rights as well as help schools, communities and health centers.
The project looks to strengthen the knowledge and abilities of the young people of the indigenous and rural communities of the Nauta district in Loreto and the Socos district of Ayacucho, so that they will be able to discern and establish limits by themselves and make decision about their own bodies. For this, we make investigative studies on the sexual and reproductive behaviors of young people between 13 and 25 years old. Using the results of the study, we elaborate educational and didactic materials, which will be methodological tools used by the teacher with the students in the classroom. We also work with the authorities of the Education Ministry to utilize educational materials in institutions.
