Volunteer projects

Volunteer Trekking

All volunteers, in the limited time they have, want to experience the vast wealth that Nepal has to offer. This NGO has collaborated with many organizations in Kathmandu to provide a volunteer trekking service that can be combined with a short period of volunteering to form an unforgettable experience.

Overriding the NGO’s objective is the empowerment of marginalized communities, with a focus on women and children.  This program helps fund their community. Volunteers will be placed with a Nepali host family, where they will live while they help within the community to teach English in schools, orphanages or to women and youth.  Their home-stay will allow them to become immersed in Nepali culture and language and will provide a solid foundation for their travels. During this time volunteers will have the opportunity to explore Kathmandu.  Once, the placement is over, the volunteers will embark on one of Nepal’s most prestigious and popular treks, either to Annapurna Base Camp or Everest Base Camp.

Volunteer Travel Tour

Volunteers can get involved in many projects. They can help to encourage learning amongst children (aged between three and five), in one of their early child education centers or work with older children, teaching English or giving life skills training in one of their childrens’ clubs. They might want to work with the women of the community or do something different altogether, retreating to a monastery to teach English to Buddhist monks.  After the volunteer placement the travel  experience of the volunteers can involve sight-seeing, safari, hiking and visiting places of historic and cultural interest, some of which are world heritage sites.
