Our organization is a community based initiative, which seeks to enhance the capacity of families and community structures in traditional councils to provide quality care to children, access relevant government services; protect the dignity of children and develop the self-esteem, talents and skills of children and youth.
It started as a project in 1995, and has grown from strength to strength over the past years.
We are always happy to host volunteers who are interested in contributing to the work we do in rural communities. Both individuals or group volunteers are welcomed to join the team.
All we require is that volunteers be passionate about working with young people or children in rural villages in South Africa (KwaZulu Natal). The Volunteer must not have a criminal record. A two days orientation has been designed to help the volunteers understand the community & the challenges we are addressing.
We are interested in volunteers that have skills related to: Counselling, Facilitation, Report Writing, Photography, Graphic Design, Health Promotion, Computer Skills, Research.
What we offer
We offer accommodation, and meals for international or out of province volunteers (volunteers are expected to cook for themselves and we will provide the food, and other needed items).
